How verification works

Every case is reviewed in several stages and by more than one person.

Stages

1. Submission: the report and evidence are received and each file's SHA-256 hash is recorded.

2. Initial screening: we check that the report is within the platform's scope.

3. Evidence review: source, integrity and context are verified.

4. Independent review: a second reviewer gives a separate assessment.

5. Legal review: the legal risk of publication is assessed where needed.

6. Publication decision: approval, or rejection with reasons.

What “verified evidence” means

Verified evidence means the source and integrity of specific evidence have been checked. It is not a declaration that anyone has been proven guilty in court.

A SHA-256 hash only shows that a file has not changed since it was submitted. On its own it does not prove the truth of a statement, who wrote it, or admissibility in court.

If a post is deleted
